Pre-Production

Before starting my shoot, I needed to figure out what I could do with the song name and Lyrics. Seeing as the song is about a broken heart I figured I needed to explain on the cover how a guy has been left by his girlfriend and how he has been broken by the situation. The cover shoot neede to take place outside to give a worldly feeling to it, so I took my two models to the park to see which Ideas sprung to me. For my first Idea I thought that I could have the female walking away from the male as if he has just been dumped and isn't sure what he is going to do next.

These two photos are the two I had to pick between for my front cover of the single. The top one, although darker had everything in the right position for what I planned for my front cover, so this is the one I picked.

For my back cover I decided I needed something fairly empty to signify the emptiness of his heart in this situation, also as it is the back cover it would contain all the tracks on the single so doesn't want to draw your attention away from these. The shot I chose is a picture of a single bench on the park, with no one on it, to show there is now no one there for him and he is evidently alone.

For the inside case at the back of the cover I decided to get a picture of the boy by himself looking down. I wanted to take the shot looking from above to show how low he feels and that anything would be better than the situation he is in. On this part of the case I would print the lyrics to the song over the top of the image.
